Zico Foundation Hosts ZICO Foundation Cup to Promote Grassroots Youth Football

On 4 October 2019, Zico Foundation organised the ZICO Foundation Cup, a seven-a-side Under-10 football tournament, at Nam Phong School. The tournament was established to provide young footballers with a competitive platform to develop their skills, gain valuable match experience, and embrace the values of fair play and teamwork.

The event was made possible through the collaboration of Foundation volunteers, university students from Kasetsart University, Kamphaeng Saen Campus and Asia Graduate College, as well as local volunteer networks from Nam Phong District.

Lersan 12 Academy A emerged as tournament champions, receiving the ZICO Foundation Cup, a championship trophy, and a THB 10,000 educational scholarship. The runners-up were awarded THB 7,000, while SP Academy finished third and received THB 5,000. Wua Yim Buriram placed fourth and was awarded a THB 3,000 scholarship.

By combining competitive football with educational scholarships, Zico Foundation continues to encourage young athletes to pursue excellence both academically and athletically, while reinforcing the values of discipline, teamwork, perseverance, and respect through sport.
