Zico Foundation Partners with Samut Prakan Juvenile and Family Court to Support Youth Rehabilitation Through Football
From 1–3 October 2026, Zico Foundation partnered with the Samut Prakan Juvenile and Family Court to deliver a three-day programme supporting the rehabilitation and positive development of young people in the juvenile justice system. Held at the Kathin Kuiyakanon Scout Personnel Development Centre in Samut Prakan, the programme combined basic football training with personal development, mentorship, and activities designed to help participants build skills and prepare for their future.
Kiatisuk Senamuang, President of Zico Foundation, shared experiences from his football career and spoke with the young participants about discipline, perseverance, self-development, and the lessons that sport can offer beyond the pitch. The session encouraged participants to recognise their own potential, learn from past experiences, and consider the opportunities available to them as they move forward.
Before taking part in the football sessions, participants underwent health assessments conducted by Pol. Col. Dr. Surachet Pornsuwanpha, a Zico Foundation volunteer, and his medical team to ensure that they were physically prepared to participate safely throughout the three-day, two-night programme.
The football programme was led by Apisit Kaikaew, a former Thailand national team player, together with coaches Watcharapong Jantanakanit and Nattapol Onlamnao, volunteers with Zico Foundation. Training focused on fundamental football skills as well as teamwork, discipline, and the importance of consistent practice, encouraging participants to continue developing what they had learned beyond the programme.
Football training formed only one part of the experience. Participants also joined sessions focused on inspiration, mindset, self-development, positive decision-making, and future career pathways. Speakers shared their experiences and introduced young people to the many opportunities that exist within football beyond becoming a professional player, helping them see how their interests and abilities could potentially develop into different roles and careers within the sport.
For Zico Foundation, football can be more than a game. It can serve as a platform for learning, discipline, personal growth, and second chances. By combining sport with mentorship and personal development, the programme aimed to give young people practical skills, greater confidence, and new perspectives that they can carry forward as they build their future.
Zico Foundation extends its sincere appreciation to the Samut Prakan Juvenile and Family Court, guest speakers, coaches, volunteers, and everyone involved in contributing their time, knowledge, and experience to support the young participants throughout the programme.
